At the moment I’m hard at work on a new project for Kobold Press which has yet to be announced, but I wanted to mention a couple of Kickstarters I’ve worked on that are currently running.

Monster Vault 2 is the second monster book especially designed for Tales of the Valiant, and I contributed ten monsters to the project, written using the excellent monster design rules featured in the Game Master’s Guide. Other fab freelance designers who worked on the book include Basheer Ghose, Kelly Pawlik, Mike Welham, and Sarah Madsen.
I had a lot of fun designing my monsters which include the archangel Ratatoskr, the OG ratatosk, the hobfoot, a well-meaning but rather dim fey that has a tendency to annoy farmers, and the snooty fey chamberlain, who has a power called Take Out the Trash (which I hope survives development and editing).
If you don’t play Tales of the Valiant, you can easily use Monster Vault 2 with your 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons game, and the book contains cool stuff like monster templates and monster bundles as well as 300+ new monsters.

Back in 2021, I wrote a couple of NPCs for Jeff Stevens Games’ Potbellied Kobold’s Guide to Villains & Lairs. Jeff was great to work for, so I was delighted when he asked me to write a Mythos-flavoured magical weapon for his new project Weapons of Lore.
This new compilation contains more than 100 magic weapons for 5e DMs to give out as treasure or equip villainous NPCs with, and is on Kickstarter now, including 40 (mine included) that improve as your PC gains levels. I enjoyed Jeff’s two previous Weapons of…. books and this one looks great too!
