The Labyrinth Worldbook, the massive project I worked on for Kobold Press last year, has now been released, and I am really happy with how it’s turned out. I never get tired of seeing how characters, places, and monsters I’ve described look when they are illustrated by Kobold Press’ talented artists, and the art in this book is fantastic!

Here’s one my favourite characters, The Bubbler, in his well, deep in the Labyrinth. Wayfarers who are brave enough to lick his skin may experience a hallucinogenic vision that transports them through the Labyrinth to their destination.

A big part of why I’m so excited about working on this project was that it includes my published campaign setting of Parsantium, and I am delighted with the art in the book for Vrishabha, Parsantium’s former rajah, who has been frozen in ice at the top of the Pillars of Heaven Mountains for the past 2,000 years, plotting his return.

To celebrate Parsantium’s inclusion as a core world in the Labyrinth setting, I’ve written a series of blog posts describing several important cities in the Lands of Parsantium and their connections to the Labyrinth:

You can read my design diary about working on the Labyrinth Worldbook here, and Wolfgang has also written two design diary articles: part 1 & part 2.
Finally, the transcript from the world building seminar I did with Wolfgang and Zeb Cook for the Labyrinth Kickstarter is also available: part 1 & part 2. I’ve been a fan of Zeb’s work for many years, so it was great to chat with him.
